Performing Arts Season Returns to the Weidner Center
Weidner Center Presents’ season unveiling marks the first performing arts
Green Bay, WI --
Jul 26, 2007 --
Weidner Center Presents, the non-profit organization that took the programming reins for the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts this past December, is proud to announce their 2007-2008 Performing Arts Season for the venue. This much anticipated season release marks the first performing arts season announcement for the Weidner Center in nearly two years.
Beginning in September and running through May of 2008, the new season will showcase fifteen titles, kicking it all off with comedian and actor Martin Short on September 23 and wrapping up with Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons on May 14, 2008.
In addition, Weidner Center Presents is proud to announce the new Community Connections Series as part of its 2007-2008 line-up. This first-of-its-kind series was developed to provide opportunities for local talent to receive exposure throughout Northeastern Wisconsin, perform at the world-class Weidner Center for the Performing Arts, and allow the public an affordable opportunity to enjoy entertainment at the venue. Tickets for all Community Connections events are $15 or less.
The Weidner Center Presents Performing Arts Season is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Edward W. Weidner. A dedicated and highly involved board member of Weidner Center Presents, Dr. Weidner was proud to be a part of rebuilding the programming at the Center and rejuvenating the wonderful opportunities it offers the community. His hard work and insight helped shape and develop this new 2007-2008 season.

About Weidner Center Presents’ role at the Weidner Center
This past December, following the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s withdrawal from programming the Weidner Center, a multi-year, collaborative relationship was established between UW-Green Bay and Weidner Center Presents (WCP) in where WCP, an independent non-profit organization separate from the University, took the lead in programming the venue and serving as primary renter of the facility. Since that December 2006 announcement, Weidner Center Presents has rebuilt an Educational Series of programming for daytime school groups, continued the Bellin Health LifeLines speaker series, and reestablished a Performing Arts Season for the venue.
