Dancing in the Fire: The Monarch, the Missionary and the Métis
is a multi-media, original dance, music & prose-based theatre production tracing connection between three personages, exploring the spiritual and political aspects of the journey from France to the heart of the North American continent in the 17th and 18th Centuries. A king (Louis XIV), a Missionary (Pere Jacques Marquette) and a Métis (Charles De Langlade) each tell and dance their stories of survival and success in the New World, focusing on the marriage of French and Native American cultures which yielded a unique lifestyle.
