Welcome to a new beginning of programming
at the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts!
Dear Friends,
This season of events represents a new beginning at the Weidner Center.
This past December, following the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's withdrawal from programming, Weidner Center Presents, Inc. – a non-profit organization independent of the University – stepped forward to take the programming reins. In doing so we assured that the community that so lovingly built and supported the Weidner Center would continue to enjoy live entertainment in Northeastern Wisconsin’s most exceptional venue. Since taking on this role, we are proud to say that we have rebuilt an Educational Series of programming for school groups, continued the superb Bellin Health LifeLines speaker series, and reestablished a Performing Arts Season for the venue – and there is much more to come.
This inaugural 2007-2008 Performing Arts Season represents a variety of entertainment interests, offering something for everyone. Needing a good laugh? Martin Short might be just what the doctor ordered. Looking for a classical escape? The 5 Browns will lead the way. Wanting to enjoy excellent local talent? Check out our new Community Connections Series. Whether you enjoy comedy, concerts, musicals, international dance, holiday classics, or just a great night out, you’ll find something here. And to be a Performing Arts Season subscriber all you need to do is choose any three or more events in this season.
While this first season of events is smaller than what has been offered at the Weidner Center in past years, your support will help us increase programming for the venue. The underwriting of artist fees and production costs in turn provides for top talent, national and international performances, and fresh educational programming for our area students. The Performing Arts Season order form allows you to make a tax deductible donation to ensure the growth of Weidner Center Presents' programming efforts. With your support, the arts will continue to play an exciting and vibrant role in our community.

We wish to dedicate this first new Weidner Center Presents Performing Arts Season to the memory of our very dear friend, Dr. Edward Weidner. A dedicated and highly involved board member of Weidner Center Presents, Dr. Weidner was proud to be a part of rebuilding the programming at this beautiful performing arts center and rejuvenating the wonderful opportunities it offers the community.
Ed – this season, and many more to come, are for you.
